I walked away and watched my team manage my busine I walked away and watched my team manage my business for a year and a half 😱🤩 I will be telling the story of ‘why’ with time. This week as I fully submerge back into the day to day (and it feels so damn good)! I just want to say, don’t just build a business that crosses the 10, 20, or 30 thousand dollar monthly revenue mark. Don’t build a business that can self-sustain while you leave for a few weeks and you return to a mountain of work. Build a business with people, systems, and processes that sustains for a year+ while you spend time on yourself - that’s the real power move ⚡️ The amount of joy, excitement, and energy I have now reminds me of when I first started my business and I am PUMPED to see where we go from here!! ✌️always rooting for you!

I’m back to learning again and I love it. Learning to manage a growing business from afar, a job I love that is helping real people who need it, a family with two kiddos that aren’t babies anymore… This summer was filled to the brim with moments. So many beautiful ones and also hard ones. This is our highlight reel, as always. But there were also tears, disappointments, and failures. But on the flip side having the best family vacation we’ve ever had was pretty epic 😍 Letting God lead us has been one of the most humbling experiences of my life. 🏔️ They say the summit has the best views…I 🏔️ They say the summit has the best views…I’d agree. But I also look behind me and see all the hardships, the trauma, the mistakes, the sweat, tears…so many tears. The climb was exhausting. The title of CEO always seemed dreamy to me. Work yourself out of a job? Yes please. Only the reality when you are a dedicated and heart-centered owner is that it actually feels more like a grief process. One that I now can completely understand why most people don’t actually do in their careers. My identity has always intertwined with my business. I have built a business that was just me in the beginning (at 5 months pregnant) and turned into a killer team of 8. I created a business @theminacompany that THRIVES without me. A team that is loving, thoughtful, badass, purely rockstars. This has been my dream since day 1. Dream achieved ✅ The thing I didn’t realize is that just because the business thrives doesn’t mean you will. It’s such an interesting and twisted irony. I built a business I am proud of, a business whose structure challenges every company’s “status quo”, we serve clients all throughout the US that I am in love with. But I have continued to grow in ways I never expected. My passions have changed. I have prayed, I have waited, I worked through burned out, gone to therapy, all of things…only to come out on the other side with a new perspective. I do not have to be in the day-to-day of business for it thrive and I will not put myself in it just to stay busy. I’ve built a team that is better than I am, and it’s humbling. So today I formally give myself my first promotion ever at the Mina Company. I am now, effective immediately, a CEO. So what’s next? I know the next steps for sure but the future is hazy. My passion is building businesses. ✅ Continue to mentor my agency team as they grow and expand @theminacompany ✅ Take on a development role with a non-profit I’ve always been passionate about 💕 ✅ Continue to teach women how I built an agency, going from freelancer to CEO. This new mountain will be challenging, that’s for sure. I am nervous-excited. Growing is not easy…but if you’re not growing your stagnant…and that’s not who I am.

Our society has taught us that a salesperson is an Our society has taught us that a salesperson is annoying, slimy, and not trust worthy. No freaking wonder why we start sweating profusely before a sales call. It’s not who we are and we feel a strange pull to be someone we aren’t and don’t want to be. Here’s the thing to remember: your bodies don’t know the difference between nervous-terrified and nervous-excited. It all feels the same, our brains decide (based on previous experience) how we feel. (You can actively choose to change that thought process!) My tip for you? Call out the elephant in the room. Are you nervous? Say it. Acknowledge it so that your body can move on quicker. Sometimes being nervous is only because you think so highly of someone or you are so dang excited to work with them. Tell them. Don’t have a ton of experience? Stop pretending like you do. Say it but also have a really great reason why they should work with you (that has nothing to do with pricing). You don’t feel like you have enough skills to work with a client? I am here to tell you that 99% of the time determination and grit will get you through. Everything you’ve ever needed to learn is available for FREE on the internet right now. Trust yourself and know that you will figure it out (or hire an expert to get the job done)! Don’t take on a project that you have 0% understanding of but if you have about 60%…you will figure the rest out as you go 🔥🔥 #freelance #freelancemarketing #freelancetips
